Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, also known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who played a major role in the drafting of the Indian Constitution. He was served as India’s first Law and Justice Minister. He also played a key role in the establishment of the Reserve Bank of India and fought for the rights and equality of marginalized sections of society throughout his life. He also known for his activism and writings, and was well-educated, holding multiple advanced degrees. He is regarded as a leading figure in the history of modern India.
According to various news sources, a 125-foot tall statue of B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, is being constructed in Hyderabad, India. The statue is located near Hussain Sagar Lake in the heart of the city. The state government plans to inaugurate the statue on April 14, 2023, which will be Ambedkar’s 132nd birth anniversary. It’s stated that this will be the tallest statue of the Father of the Indian Constitution anywhere in the world. It’s also said that the statue is nearing completion and would be ready by February 2023. The statue will be erected in the Khairatabad area at NTR gardens.
The statue is being built with a nine-ton bronze skin covering, and it is expected to be a major tourist attraction.
