To get building permission from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), citizens have the option to apply for building permits online. According to the official website of GHMC, the applicant must fill out the application form, submit all required documents, and make an initial payment online. The concerned officer will then receive the application and documents, and the Assistant City Planner (ACP) will inspect the site by taking photos using his mobile application.
For plots sizes up to 75 square yards, no building permits and occupancy certificates are required. Self-certification is allowed for constructions in plots from 75 sq. yds to 600 sq. yds, and a single-window will be established for buildings of over 600 sq.yds and more than 10 meters in height.
To apply for building permission, the applicant must first register on the GHMC website by visiting the DPMS (Development Permission Management System) page and clicking on “Submission of Building Applications Online.” The applicant can then submit the application and required documents, including the building layout, through the online portal. The building layout is checked against set standards to ensure it meets all stipulations laid down by GHMC.
Once the application is submitted, the file will be forwarded to the Title Scrutiny Officer and Technical Officer for site inspection. After the inspection, the file will be forwarded to the higher officials and sent to the Commissioner, GHMC for final approval. After approval, the Chief City Planner, GHMC will issue the building permission order and sanction plan which can be viewed and downloaded by the applicant through the online portal.
However, starting from 1-7-2021, all building applications in Plots above 2000 sqmts and Layout permissions will be accepted through Tsbpass only, and the DPMS application will be closed from 31-03-2022, all pending applications to be complied on or before 31-03-2022.
