Hyderabad Kite Festival Schedule, 2020;
Sankranti, a festival that marks the beginning of Harvest season and also the transition of winter to summer. During this festival, people fly kites as a means of fun and entertainment which also reflects our culture and tradition that is carried forward since generations. The International Kite Festivals in the previous years has brought a new identity to the tradition of Kite flying. The 2020 edition of International Kite and Sweet Festival is organized by the Telangana Tourism with great fanfare.
The grandness and the setting of the festival is so energetic and enthralling, that no one can resist the temptation to fly kite. Everyone, From first-timers to hobbyists to professional kite fliers take part in this festival with equal enthusiasm. Children, teenagers and adults all of the assemble together to celebrate the festival. Cultural programmes reflecting various types of traditional and folk art forms of Telangana and other states are presented. The sweet festival is an occasion for people from different states in the country who showcase sweets typical to their respective states.
Night kite flying is popular amongst many kite lovers. Wide-ranging sizes and shapes of kites with halogen lights pointed upwards in the night and fill up the sky as with beautiful stars. IKF – 2020 is the 5th International Kite Festival conducted in Hyderabad on January 13th, 14th and 15th. It is organized under the aegis of Tourism and cultural departments at the Parade grounds, Secunderabad.
