Every year, from January 1st to February 15th an All India Industrial Exhibition also called as Numaish is conducted in the Nampally Exhibition grounds. There is a beautiful history behind the Nampally Exhibition, which started during the rule of last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan in the year 1938. The main motto of this exhibition is to promote local products and the first event was organized at the Public Gardens with 100 stalls. In 2009, it was renamed Numaish – Urdu word for exhibition or Numaish Masnuāt-e-Mulki means exhibition of the local products. This annual event starts with the beginning of the New Year and is the only event in the world that is organized for a stretch of 46 days continuously. Numaish is the largest Industrial Exhibition with around 2200 stalls and almost 25-26 lakh people visiting every year. This year there is only around 1700 stalls have been allotted due to security reasons.

At Numaish, the list and variety of products are endless, as the stalls are set up by traders from all over the country and even from outside the country such as Iran, Turkey, and Bangladesh. Handicrafts, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, crockery, kitchenware, toys, dry fruits, electronic devices, leather goods, home decor items and many other things. Numaish is the best place for shopping lovers and also the best choice for entertainment. One can find a lot of fun rides, toy trains, eateries, cultural shows, magic shows, Ghazal programs and musical concerts. Tollywood and Bollywood artists also perform at this Numaish exhibition. Hyderabadi restaurant Pista House sells the famous Hyderabadi Haleem.

One can visit Numaish at any day and enjoy the wide range of activities and shopping. However, there are special days, for instance, ladies’ day dedicated to ladies shopping and children’s day where rangoli making, painting and flower arrangement competitions are held; special programs will be held even on Sankranthi festival and Republic Day. At this exhibition grounds, free Wi-Fi is offered for 45 minutes to everyone and to make things easier a new app- ‘Exhibition App’ was introduced where the visitors can get all required information about the Numaish right in their mobiles. As a huge number of people visit this exhibition, facilities for health care and other primary services are provided at Numaish. The state government provides 3-tier security to the Numaish exhibition with 25 CCTV cameras, frame metal detectors installed at all the 3 entry gates and even live video streaming is available with tilt and zoom cameras.

This exhibition is spread over 23 acres of area. Even the central and state government’s departments will have their stalls. There are 3 entry gates to the exhibition – The main entrance gate is the Ajanta Gate, Goshamahal Gate and Gandhi Bhavan Gate. Due to heavy rush parking is a big problem at this exhibition grounds, the parking fee for two and four-wheelers inside the ground is free but the parking outside the ground is Rs. 20 for two-wheelers and Rs. 50 for four-wheelers.

The timings for the Nampally Exhibition are from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM and is open all days of the week from Monday to Friday. On Weekends it will close at 11:00 PM.  The entry fee for a person is Rs. 40 and there is no entry fee for children below 5years, senior citizens and disabled persons. Numaish is situated on the Mukarram Jahi road, Nampally and is well connected with public-private transport and especially Hyderabad Metro Rail with Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally metro stations on Miyapur to LB Nagar line.
